Coils of pink tickets spur from skee-ball machines. A couple walks by with an oversized teddy bear. There’s a six year-old holding a snow cone. His parents are sharing a funnel cake, their shirts speckled with powdered sugar. Pinball table tops illuminate a row of faces. A teenager plunges a giant hammer and looks up as a light bulb-lined tower rates his strength. It stops just short of “mighty”. You hear excited screams as the roller coaster roars by. From a distance, a neon ferris wheel casts its light into another summer night. The photographs here hope to immortalize the nostalgia of these warmer days and evenings. They were composed on breezy boardwalks and within the gates of fairgrounds and amusement parks along America’s east coast.
